Dr. Andrew Bonett on the Mini Tummy Tuck

Video Transcript – Dr. Andrew Bonett on the Mini Tummy Tuck

Hi, I’m Dr. Bonett practicing in Naples, Florida. I often see patients for concerns about excess or saggy skin below their belly button, and they’re looking for a procedure that’s less invasive than a full tummy tuck.

In some cases, a mini tummy tuck might be the answer. The difference between a mini tummy tuck and a full tummy tuck is that a mini tummy tuck can be done with a little bit of a shorter scar. We still hide it low below the belly button, and after the excess skin is removed, we can also tighten the muscles if needed. Similar to a full tummy tuck, it’s important to understand that a good candidate for a mini tummy tuck is the patient who really has that skin laxity that is confined to the lower abdomen.

If you feel like you have a lot of excess skin or laxity above the belly button, the full tummy tuck may be a better option for you. If you’re interested in discussing options to rejuvenate or improve the contour of your abdomen, please come see us for a consultation, and we’ll talk about the difference between a mini tummy tuck and a full tummy tuck and let you know which one is right for you.
