Male Neck Lift Surgery
Naples Plastic Surgery
Loose skin, double chin, sagging jowls and “turkey wattle” are common symptoms of the aging process that often appear in men before other signs of significant aging. Neck lift surgery by one of our surgeons, Dr. Gardner or Dr. Baccaro, can tighten the skin and muscles of the neck, which is aimed at enhancing and revitalizing the contours of the neck and jaw area.
Sun damage and genetics play a role in early aging of the neck, and there’s little men can do on their own to reverse the signs. Weight loss can also contribute, because lowered elasticity of the skin prevents it from conforming to its original position after weight gain.
Neck lift surgery is one of the only effective solutions available for treating these early signs of aging, and following the procedure, our objective is to make you look younger and display more confidence with a smooth neck and strong-looking jawline.
Neck Lift Surgery in Naples
Before any procedure, one of our doctors personally meets with the patient in a one-on-one consultation to determine aesthetic goals and form a personalized treatment plan best suited to meet those goals. In some cases it may be suggested that the patient combine the neck lift with other procedures, such as facelift or liposuction, in order to achieve the most rejuvenating and transformative results possible. However, a neck lift by itself can produce significant results.
The actual neck lift procedure generally includes at least one of several sophisticated approaches, such as an incision on the anterior neck or around the earlobe. The doctor then removes sagging skin and excess fat, tightens the underlying muscles, and positions the remaining skin and tissue in a manner designed to emulate the patient’s youthful contours and strong lines of his neck and jaw area. The incisions are then carefully closed and sutured.
Recovering from Neck Lift Surgery
Once the surgeon has completed the neck lift surgery, a dressing is applied around the neck and jaw area to minimize swelling and foster a more rapid recovery period. Patients generally need two weeks of recovery following a neck lift procedure before they are able to partake in most normal daily activities again, and generally experience full recovery within four to six weeks after the procedure.
Patients may experience slight swelling and bruising for several days after the procedure, and, as with any surgical procedure, may face a risk of complications, such as infection. Our doctors carefully review these risks with each patient prior to surgery, and with years of experience, are adept at helping patients minimize the risk and with maximizing a quick and successful recovery.
