Naples Plastic Surgery
Chin augmentation can rejuvenate, improve, or reconstruct your facial contours and the profile of your face. This procedure offers many different options that allow you to choose the size and shape of your chin based on the proportions of your facial structure.
Considering Chin Augmentation
- If you have a weak chin and wish to make it more proportional to the rest of your face.
- If you wish to improve the definition or fullness of the chin.
- If you wish to make your facial aesthetics more proportioned.
- If you wish to repair damage or asymmetrical appearance as a result of injury or otherwise.
Your chin augmentation surgery can correct abnormalities in the chin and jawline and give your chin the stronger, more proportional look you desire. It does not require procedures anywhere else on the body, or the transfer of tissue. The procedure is relatively fast and has long-lasting results.
Your Chin Augmentation Procedure
Similarly to other facial procedures performed by Dr. Gardner and Dr. Baccaro, the necessary anesthetic is administered and a small incision is made in the location where the augmentation will take place. A small pocket is created and the implant or augmentation is carefully set in place, then the area is closed and sutured.
Recovering from Chin Augmentation
The recovery period for this procedure can vary slightly, and Dr. Gardner or Dr. Baccaro will discuss with you how long you should wait before returning to normal daily activities. Following the surgery, you will receive detailed information regarding post-surgical care. Immediately following your procedure, you will experience some amount of bruising and swelling along with a low to medium amount of discomfort lasting no more than a few days. You can apply a cold compress to reduce swelling in the area.
Your chin augmentation should be permanent, although it will be just as susceptible to physical damage as organic tissue. It is always important to follow-up with Dr. Gardner or Dr. Baccaro after any plastic surgery procedure to promote and ensure the healthiest outcome.
