Naples Plastic Surgery
Genetics play a large role in a person's body type and the areas of the body fat is stored. Many patients struggle with stubborn fatty deposits that settle on their hips, buttocks, thighs, stomachs and/or arms. These trouble areas are often resistant to the traditional weight-loss methods of diet and exercise and can be a source of emotional distress for patients.
Liposuction is one of the only successful solutions for treating and eliminating these problem areas. By getting liposuction with our plastic surgeon, patients can spot-reduce and remove localized fat deposits to achieve slimmer, more balanced physiques.
Liposuction in Naples
Dr. Gardner begins the liposuction process by first meeting with patients to gain a deep understanding of their concerns and goals for the procedure. During this time, he also works with the patient to determine the right technique and procedure to best meet their needs. He offers tumescent liposuction, which decreases bruising and pain postoperatively.
Liposuction is an advanced body contouring Cosmetic surgery procedure that requires surgical finesse and a strong sense of artistry. During the liposuction process, Dr. Gardner will first determine the ideal incision locations on the body to encourage minimal scarring, as well as promote high levels of precision. Then, he and his surgical team will prepare the patient for surgery.
To begin the procedure, Dr. Gardner will first infuse a wetting solution of saline and epinephrine into the problem areas to minimize blood loss and increase the ease of fat removal. Following infusion of the solution, he will gently suction out stubborn subcutaneous fat cells to address patients' problem areas and successfully spot-reduce fat deposits. Depending on how much fat is to be removed, Dr. Gardner offers local anesthesia or, if extensive suctioning is required, general anesthesia. The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis at his surgical suite, which has passed the strict regulations outlined by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgical Facilities (AAAASF).

Patients are strongly discouraged from engaging in any type of strenuous activity, including exercise, for at least three to six weeks following surgery to prevent complications.
